Obituary of George Frederick Swope
George Frederick Swope, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Swope, was born December 17, 1909 near Eaton, Ohio, and passed away June 8, 1947 at the age of 37 years, 5 months and 25 days. He was united in marriage to Miss Edith Boling, October 13, 1934. To this union four children wer born, Joyce Ann 12, George 11, Sandra 9 and Stephen who departed this life at the age of 10 weeks, preceding his father by 1 year and 7 months. Fred was a member of the Church of the Brethren. As a child he was obedient, good and kind, one that could be trusted. He honored his father and mother, and was always kind and affectionate to his brother and sister. As he grew to manhood he grew to be a trustworthy friend, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Willing to lose his own life that another might live. He leaves to mourn hsi loss, his wife, Edith, and three children, Joyce, George, and Sandra, his father and mother, one brother Arthur and a sister Pearl. A host of relatives and friends. The family wish to thank Rev. Hurst and Rev. Deaton, the Girton Funeral Services, and the many friends and neighbors whose kindness meant so much since the recent tragedy which took our loved one.
