William H. (Judson) Heywood

  • Married MARGARET A. PIERCE on January 1, 1866. Margaret was born in 1837 in Vermont; and died April 27, 1918 at the Central Hotel, St. Petersburg, Pinellas County, Florida.
  • They had no children
  • Died February 16, 1904.
  • Buried in Riverside Cemetery, Troy, Ohio.





Margaret A. Heywood established the Heywood trust fund by Will and Heywood Elementary School was named in her honor. [PLEASE DO NOT E-MAIL GENEALOGY QUESTIONS TO HEYWOOD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL!!] Her will bequeathed $1000 to the Baptist Convention, State of Vermont, in trust for Baptist Church of Windham, Vermont; $1000 each to the three children of J.W. Pierce [her brother] - Frank B., Jessie, Clara of New York; $1000 to Charles Francis of Providence, Rhode Island, grandson of Simeon Pierce; $1000 to Alexander Heywood, brother-in-law; $1000 to First Baptist Church, Troy; and the residue of her estate to the Troy Board of Education as a trust - the income to be used to help needy and deserving students get a higher education. The principal was to be invested only in government bonds, or good first mortgages.
