SAMUEL [EAMES]. Born Sept. 8, 1692; died Jan. 20, 1775.

Married first July 2, 1717, Judith, born Oct. 5, 1695, died Jan. 10, 1766, daughter of Benjamin and Rebecca Simons of Woburn, Mass.

Married second July 4, 1770, Joanna, born Oct. 20, 1714, died July 12, 1813, daughter of Nathaniel and Susana (Lane) Paige and widow of Capt. Josiah Fassett of Bedford.

He was a lieutenant of militia, 1733-41; capt., 1741-44; and deacon of Woburn First Church from 1745.

His will dated Sept. 14, 1773; probated Feb. 28, 1775; names wife Joanna, son Jacob, daughter Judith Symmes, son-in-law Elijah Wymon and daughter Hulda Wymon, wife of said Elijah. He is said to have built and owned the old house still standing on the south side of Plain Street, known in former years as the Jacob Ames house, and later built the mansion on corner of New Boston and School Street now occupied by his descendant, Charles O. Ames.

Samuel Eames (Samuel,1 Robert1), born at Woburn, Sept. 8, 1692, died Jan. 20. 1775, "in ye 84'th Year of his Age" (gravestone at Woburn). He married first, July 2, 1717, Judith, born Oct. 5, 1695, died Jan. 10, 1766, daughter of Benjamin and Rebecca Simonds of Woburn; and married second, July 4, 1770, Joanna, born Oct. 29, 1714, died July 12, 1818, daughter of Nathaniel and Susanna (Lane) Paige, and widow of Capt. Josiah Fassett of Bedford.

He was a lieutenant of militia, 1733-1741, captain, 1741-1744, and deacon of Woburn First Church, from 1745. vi. Huldah, b. Mar. 4, 1733 ; d. July 18, 1790 ; ra. Mar. 13, 1765, Elijah Wyman, who d. July 9, 1777. His will, dated May 23, 1777, probated July 7, 1778, names wife Huldah, eldest son Samuel Eames Wyman, and youngest son Elijah Wyman, who Inherited their grandfather Eames's homestead.
