Biography of Henry Adams Wheeler

HENRY ADAMS WHEELER, son of Ephraim Wheeler (VI), married Dolly Kendall. She was born at Holden, September 19, 1809, and was the daughter of Caleb Kendall and his wife, Dolly Sawyer. Henry A. Wheeler was a farmer of Concord and lived in the house on Sudbury Road now occupied by the family of his son Caleb, and nearly opposite the Ephraim Wheeler house. He died, September 4, 18S1, at Concord, and his widow died September 5. 1885. They had nine children, as follows: 1. Mary Jane, August 8, 1829; died January 13, 1851; unmarried. 2. Sarah Eliza, February 13, 1S32; married Alonzo Burgess, August 1, 1854. 3. Lucy Ann, January 6, 1834 ; died April 30, 1854; unmarried. 4. Rebecca, August 6, 1835; married Thomas Todd, May 6, 185S. Children: i. Agnes Stamford, born June 16, 1S59; died October 20, 1881; ii. Gertrude, born December 22, 1867; iii. Thomas, Jr., born May 25. 1878. 5. Abby Frances, May 20, 1837; married Julius M. Smith, December 28, 1865. 6. Eliza Kendall, December 21, 1840; died March 5, 1842. 7. Caleb Henry, November 10, 1842; married, first, Ellen A. Brown, who died January 19, 1869; child. Nellie, born January 9, 1869; died April 19, 1869. Married, second, Sarah Elizabeth Parks, November 13, 1879, and died September 4, 1900; their children were: i. Julia Dale, born October 19, 1880; ii. Sarah Kendall, born May 25, 1882; iii. Mary Ellen, born April 18, 1885; iv. Elizabeth Parks, born April 21, 1888; v. Caleb Henry, Jr., born May 22, 1891. 8. Fanny Wood, February 5, 1845; died July 14, 1847. 9. Martha Washington, February 22, 1949; married Dr. Samuel Worcester, May 4, 1871. Children: i. Samuel Howard, born March 22, 1873; ii. Edith May, born February 28, 1876; iii. Herbert Wheeler, born October 20, 1883.
