FROM "A GENEALOGY OF MAYFLOWER FAMILIES"

Called a Husbandman of Rutland, Abner Lee bought a 60-acre house lot there December 31, 1742 from James Allen of Boston. On March 10, 1749, Abner Lee and Sarah, his wife, of Rutland sold 113 acres there to Isaac Bull of Weston. He made his first purchase of property in Poquiog (later Athol) from administrators of James Holdin of Sutton on May 12, 1743, and he was named clerk of the proprietors there October 18, 1749. Abner and Sarah of Poquiog sold five house lots in West Poquiog on July 10, 1760, and Abner alone, called of Poquiog, sold lots there on January 18, 1762 to Ebenezer Goodard and others. Abner Lee moved to Amherst, appearing on town tax lists there for the first time in November, 1760, and was listed at Amherst in 1771, with two polls.

Baptised at Amherst Church November 4, 1764 were Gideon and John Lee, and four other unnamed children of Abner Lee; baptised there April 21, 1765 were his children Hannah and Henry.

Administration of the estate of Abner Lee, late of Amherst, was granted to John Lee May 1, 1781. An inventory was taken April 8, and sworn to July 3, 1781 by John Lee. Insolvency Commissioners on October 1, 1781 listed claims of, among others, John Lee and Gideon Lee.
