Obituary of Richard G. Allen

Richard G. Allen, 75, of Binghamton, died Friday morning, November 10, 2006, at the Good Shepherd-Fairview Home. He was predeceased by his parents, James and Mary Allen; his sister, Ruth Allen; and his brothers, James and Paul Allen. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Doreen Allen, Binghamton; his nieces, Lynn and Dale Gurney, Vestal, Deborah and Peter Larson, Binghamton, Vickie and Steve Ward, Whitehall, Pa., Nancy and James Clark, Binghamton; several great-nieces and nephews. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Binghamton, and retired from N.Y.S. Department of Taxation and Finance. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War, member of American Legion Post 80, and an avid golfer and bowler. The family wishes to thank the staff of the rehabilitation floor at Good Shepherd-Fairview Home. Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. and at 9 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home, Monday from 5-7 p.m.
