Obituary of Donna Mae Rawlings

Donna Mae Rawlings, loving wife, devoted mother and treasured Nana, joined Jack, her husband of 63 years, in eternal rest on Feb. 9, 2021.

Donna was a working mother and set an inspiring example for her daughter and granddaughters.

As an employee of the State of Michigan, she worked for several departments including the State Hospital, the Unemployment Office and the Department of Natural Resources.

A gifted seamstress and designer; she created numerous wedding gowns, formals and dresses for special occasions.

Donna Mae was awarded homemaker of the year of the Northwestern Michigan Fair, recognized for her crocheting, crafts, apple dumplings, cherry pie, and kolaches.

The youngest of eight children, Donna Mae was born on the family farm and died there, in the care of her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Jack Rawlings; her granddaughter, Kendra Worthing; her parents, Elmer and Clara Pierce; and her siblings

Donna will be forever missed by her son, Steve (Tammy Bach); daughter, Tamie (Pete Richard); grandchildren, Kyle (Nichole) Worthing, Ellie Rawlings and Lilly Rawlings; great-grandchildren, Jakson Kaltved, Lydia Worthing, Layla Worthing and Jakobi Kaltved; and many nieces and nephews who will all remember Aunt Doni and her famous chicken and dumplings.

A celebration of life will be held at a future date.
